Grand Valley State University Athletic Village Arena Renovation
Looking to create a modernized experience for students, athletes, and visitors, Grand Valley State University (GVSU) partnered with Integrated Architecture to renovate the Raleigh J. Finkelstein Athletic Village Arena.
The renovation improves visibility and comfort for guests while increasing seating capacity to accommodate just over 3,000 spectators. This includes new bench-style seating and 400 cushioned chair-back seats. To provide premium viewing experiences, the design incorporates three suites and a lounge area overlooking the court. New restrooms, equipment storage, flooring, and other improvements throughout the facility further enhance the guest experience and improve staff operations.
Home to championship Laker teams in men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball, the Arena is central to GVSU’s Athletic Village. Beyond athletics, the facility hosts concerts, lectures, student life events, local and regional events, and campus recreation activities.
Close coordination kept the project on an accelerated schedule while allowing campus and Athletic Village activities to continue uninterrupted.
