Spectrum Health Beltline Integrated Care Campus

Spectrum Health Medical Group is using architecture to help facilitate service integration, and nowhere is that more apparent than at the Beltline Integrated Care Center. This three-story, $44 million, 120,000-SF medical office building provides space for seven existing service groups – urgent care, family medicine, radiology, neurosciences, laboratory services, physical therapy, and women’s health. With the inclusion of MRI, CT, and Lab Services, patients receive coordinated care under one roof, without having to travel from office to office. The design transforms care-giver culture from solo, silo practices to an integrated team model by seamlessly connecting team pods through an open hallway running the length of the building. Abundant natural light, clear sight lines from the parking lot to patient waiting areas, and easily navigated check-in kiosks all combine to reduce patient anxiety; one of the facility’s main goals. Designed to reinforce the SHMG brand, the facility offers intuitive way finding, abundant day lighting, and is easily reprogrammable.
