Bridge Street Market

At the heart of the West Side of Grand Rapids sits the Bridge Street Market. As the first deployment of Meijer’s neighborhood grocery store concept, the market provides an inclusive shopping experience within a personalized space to fit the West Side’s aesthetic. The market is meeting a critical need for grocery options within the city, an issue that Grand Rapids has struggled with for many years. The 37,000 square foot store features a full assortment of fresh and prepared foods, including bakery items, fresh meat, and a deli. The interior environment was meticulously choreographed; from lighting, to finishes, to product placement, to branding. All elements support the message of being local and providing value. A unique concrete recipe was developed for the floors, reclaimed barn wood was used for a produce feature wall, and all fixtures were re-imagined, supporting this unique experience. Brick from one of the previous buildings on the site was salvaged to construct an interior brand wall and all graphics were custom-designed to reflect the West Side.
