LiveWell on Harrison - Community Impact by Design
The Community Impact by Design Award recognizes projects that "demonstrate meaningful, lasting impact beyond the immediate client and program brief. It asks project teams to account for who the building serves - and to honestly reflect on what the building has become in use."
The Uptown Reinvestment Corporation Foundation partnered with the YMCA of Greater Flint to construct a new mixed-use facility in downtown Flint designed to co-locate affordable housing, a community wellness center, and youth education and family programming. The building includes approximately 55,000 square feet for the new YMCA facility and 50 affordable and market-rate apartments.
Together, the new facility increases the vitality and vibrancy of downtown Flint while addressing the housing and wellness needs of Flint and Genesee County residents of all ages.
