Integrated Architecture worked with Walden Green administration, faculty and parents to design a new, 220-student school that is supports the Montessori mission of educating each child to their full human potential. Sustainable design elements include carefully placing the building along side a wooded site, saving a maximum number of trees; using simple, recyclable materials, and environmentally friendly finishes in “Learning Colors,” a palette that supports a variety of learning styles. A large ramp replaces the elevator, creating a central open space for students to congregate and move easily between floors.
