Functional and efficient, Gordon Food Service’s new 386,000 SF headquarters is more than a building: it is a carefully crafted business tool that supports productivity, efficiency and communication. Numerous collaboration areas scattered throughout the facility create a friendly, comfortable environment that encourages team-based work and staff interaction.
Sustainably designed, LEED Gold pending, it utilizes a geothermal system for heating and cooling. Energy modeling indicates that the facility will use 50% less energy than the current ASHRAE standard.
Designed to maximize natural light, the building’s narrow footprint helps provide daylight and outside views to more than 90% of 1,200 GFS employees. Even as the building provides adequate parking for the large staff, more than 40% of the site is vegetated open space that is filled with natural site landscaping instead of turf grass.
