The term ‘Fast Track’ has an entirely different meaning at the new Laker Turf building. Offering a six-lane, 300-meter indoor track with nine sprint lanes, the building literally houses a fast track that is destined to be among the Midwest’s premier competition indoor venues. Designed to achieve a U. S. Green Building Council Gold LEED certification, the facility also sports solar panels, conserves water and energy and was built and finished with high-recycled content materials. The 138,000 SF Turf Building also houses classrooms for the University’s Movement Science department, multipurpose exercise rooms, and locker facilities.
