Intern Architect Joins IA

November 2008

Intern Architect Jamie Wansten is the newest member of the Integrated Architecture team. A 2008 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture, Jamie offers a fresh focus on sustainability, graphic design and urban revitalization that is balanced with a solid foundation in architectural design excellence.

“As we celebrate our 20th year, it is important that we maintain the excitement and vitality offered by young professionals,” Paul H. Dickinson, AIA, Integrated Architecture President said. “Jamie’s interest in sustainability combined with her focus on fine arts fits well with our design and environmental concentration. As we look forward to our next 20 years, Intern Architects like Jamie will continue our tradition of creating environments that stimulate and positively affect the community and the built environment.”

As for Jamie, a native of Kentwood the home of Integrated Architecture, working at IA is the realization of a long standing goal. “Growing up in Kentwood, a suburb of Grand Rapids meant knowing about Integrated Architecture. As a college student, I was always on their web site, studying their sustainable award-winning projects. While I’m still learning the basic policies and procedures, I’m eager to begin specific project work especially in sustainable design,” Jamie said.

Jamie’s training included two full time co-op assignments and a semester in Poland where she studied traditional architecture along with community development and urban design; working to merge two distinct districts within the City of Warsaw.
