Integrated Architecture's commitment to sustainable design
continues with the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design) Accreditation of Jeff
Werle, Senior Mechanical Designer and Matt VanSweden, Animation
Designer. The accreditation formally recognizes their knowledge
of the LEED system in the creation of environmentally sustainable
buildings.
While
VanSweden and Werle specialize in different aspects of architecture
and engineering, their LEED accreditation officially acknowledges
an understanding of sustainable design and its application
that unites their efforts.
"As
an animation designer working on construction documents,
I've always strived to bring sustainability into the forefront
of the architectural process. Now, as a LEED AP, I have
a documented understanding of a defined, consistent process
which encourages holistic design and construction that will
further support our sustainable efforts," VanSweden
stated.
"The
LEED AP designation recognizes my knowledge of sustainable
design and implementation and illustrates my ability to
relate it to the entire building construction trade. Essentially,
this supports my efforts in designing heating and cooling
systems and in guiding the needs of other team members,"
Werle added.
Providing
knowledge-based solutions, Integrated Architecture's LEED
accomplishments include the nation's first LEED certified
YMCA, the David D. Hunting and first LEED certified church,
Keystone Community. "Sustainability is integrated throughout
our design process," Mike Corby, AIA, LEED AP, Executive
Vice President stated. "Having LEED Accredited Professionals
immersed in each project provides our clients with a documented
commitment to creating exceptional, sustainable buildings,
systems and environments that support the health and welfare
of each occupant while conserving natural resources and
providing operational efficiencies."
