Integrated Architecture is pleased to announce the hiring
of Levi Gardner, LEED AP, as LEED Coordinator. A recent
graduate of GVSU Seidman College of Business, Levi earned
a BBA in Business Finance with a focus on sustainability
and a BS in Political Science.
Passionate
about the environment, Levi's experience includes a GVSU
internship at Metro Health where he developed a hospital-wide
sustainability journal, investigated numerous sustainable
initiatives and performed energy audits on mechanical systems
for several outpatient locations.
Charged
with managing the LEED certification of IA projects, Levi
is shepherding 10 projects through the LEED process. He's
also instituted an office composting program, a more comprehensive
recycling effort, and is in the initial stages of creating
a program that will monitor and provide insight for the
reduction of IA's carbon 'footprint'.
Since
the turn of the century, IA has focused on sustainable architecture,
engineering and interior design, with every project designed
to conserve natural resources and minimize negative environmental
impact. Green projects include the State of Michigan's first
sustainable effort: the Niles Community Law Enforcement
Center, Niles; Michigan's first Gold LEED office: the Herman
Miller MarketPlace, Zeeland; the nation's first LEED YMCA:
the David D. Hunting YMCA, Grand Rapids; and the nation's
first LEED Church: Keystone Community, Ada.
