Floating Headquarters Lands on WAN Website Front Page

July 2007

Lamar Construction’s new headquarters building, designed by Integrated Architecture, was featured on the July 25, 2007 front page of WorldArchitectureNews.com.

The article, titled Floating Headquarters, joins international super stars like BurjDubi, the tallest building in the world, Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art in Shenzen, China, and the Freedom Tower, New York City as projects featured on the WAN front page.

The Floating Headquarters refers to Lamar Construction’s new corporate office, the longest structural steel cantilever in the U.S., which literally floats over their tool room and carpentry shop. Its straight forward design showcase’s Lamar Construction’s steel erection capability and is designed to enhance their reputation as master builders. The 5,200 SF office literally illustrates the nuts and bolts of their work as massive steel beams, painted construction orange, define individual work space, creating rigid boundaries that flow into common space.

The Floating Headquarters article will remain in the WAN data base moving from the front page to an item in offices/commercial building news. It can be viewed at the following address:
