first facility of its kind in the nation, Grand Valley State
University’s Michigan Alternative & Renewable Energy
Center USGBC Gold LEED Certified “Building of the Future”
features hydrogen fuel cells, solar photovoltaic roof panels
and nickel metal hydride batteries enabling the building
to collect, generate, store and ultimately sell electrical
power to the local utility.
