The Presidential Service Award recognizes those who serve their community in their free time and seek to improve the lives of others. Swanson received the bronze group award as a member of the Sustainable Sites Technical Advisory Group. To become eligible for this award, the group needed between 200 to 499 combined service hours with each individual contributing at least 25 hours. The group seeks to update LEED certification requirements, which is a way of measuring the environmental sustainability of a building. Their hours were accumulated over bi-monthly conference calls in which they discuss ways to better adapt and implement LEED certification criteria.
We want to thank Bill and the other members of the Sustainable Sites Technical Advisory Group for using their free time to improve the relationship between development and sustainability and congratulate them on this honorable recognition.
