Spectrum Health’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Pediatric Division of Hematology and Oncology is one of the largest children’s cancer programs in the Midwest. More than 800 brave children visit the clinic each month, where they receive tests and treatments that may include transfusions, radiation therapy or chemotherapy. Unfortunately, these life-saving treatments often lead to hair loss.
The Happy Hatter aims to top these youthful warriors with – Hats. Lots of Hats. The Happy Hatter is collecting creative cranium coverings – professional, collegiate and local sports team hats, character-oriented beanies, crazy winter stocking caps, cowboy hats, bandanas, berets, newsboy caps, fedoras, and all forms of lids for kids.
The hats collected will be given to kids undergoing these emotionally and physically draining clinical treatments; bringing hope, comfort — and a bit of warmth.
